Decide whether this is your obligation

Use HMRC’s qualifying-income and exemption guidance for the relevant tax year. Do not infer MTD Income Tax status from being VAT-registered, receiving a large invoice or trading through a limited company.

Make the review repeatable

Suggested routine: collect documents regularly, label the business or property they relate to, record unresolved questions and agree a review cut-off with the agent. Keep changes traceable so a later correction is not mistaken for a second transaction.

The team’s internal cut-off is a planning date. It does not replace an HMRC deadline or change the tax treatment of a transaction.

Keep the official submission separate

HMRC’s process continues beyond quarterly updates to adjustments and a tax return. Agree which compatible software performs those steps and who is authorised to use it. Yelnitax’s public document preview does not submit an update, calculate a final liability or replace the agent’s review.
